My hands-on journey in construction began in 1995, assisting my father in building our family home – an immersive experience from foundation to roofing, completed with proper permitting. After high school, I worked as a mechanic in the oil field, strategically saving to invest in real estate. Starting in 2007, I successfully acquired and renovated multiple foreclosure properties, self-performing all work and leveraging cash-out refinances to fuel further development, demonstrating strong financial acumen.
In 2010, I launched my own home improvement firm, quickly growing to 20 employees and numerous subcontractors. However, I soon hit a critical plateau. The immense burden of managing all bookkeeping, payroll, office functions, bidding, research, and sales, while overseeing multiple projects, led to significant stress and burnout. The financial commitment of hiring a high-caliber project manager felt overwhelming at the time, leaving my company stagnant. It became clear: I wasn’t alone in this struggle.
